Durability and safety
Our roofing membranes, exposed to the elements, are self-extinguishing. This means that they do not contribute to the spread of fire. When installed on most substrates, they have a fire performance class in accordance with EN 13501-5.
Protan membrane and roofing membrane joints are welded together using hot air only. From a fire safety point of view, this is a safe method of installing roof coverings. Thanks to hot-air welding, the possibility of fire during installation is minimised.
Thanks to the armature used, our products have a very good tear strength. This is very important to avoid wind damage in areas exposed to strong winds. Our roofing is ideal for installation in harsh weather conditions. This is a clear advantage in winter and in cold climates.
Roof membranes have a textured surface to provide anti-slip protection. This is an important factor in ensuring safety during installation and maintenance, compared to smooth-surfaced roof coverings.
A vapour-permeable system combined with a mechanical fastening system provides the ideal solution for reducing vapour pressure.
Reflective, light-coloured Protan roofing can reduce overheating of the roofing in hot weather. This also reduces the internal temperature of the building, especially on uninsulated or low-insulated roofs, which means that the building requires less cooling.
Environmental friendliness
PVC is an environmentally friendly and recyclable material made from natural materials and energy produced in hydroelectric power stations. Roofing and membrane production uses minimal resources and generates no waste. The material is of high quality and has a long service life, which makes Protan PVC roll materials one of the best choices for roofing.
